On September 17th, 2011 an expert roundtable discussion on the topic “Ukrainian-Romanian relations: achievements, problems and prospects” was held at the Department of History, Political Science and International Relations of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. The event was organized by Black Sea Peacekeeping Network, Center for Middle East Studies, Foundation “Public Resources and Initiatives” and the Institute of European Integration and Regional Studies of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
The roundtable discussion was attended by scholars from different regions of Ukraine, civic society leaders, representatives of executive authorities, local self-government and media. Participants discussed the historical aspects of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Romania, the modern problems of those relations and prospects of their solution, and also achievements and potential for cross-border cooperation between two neighboring countries.
