On September 23-25, 2011 the first International Congress of Belarusian Studies was held in Kaunas (Lithuania), which was attended by over 200 scientists from 14 countries. The work of the seven sections of the Congress brought together historians, experts in Political and Social Sciences and representatives of other disciplines. In addition, Congress program included public discussions on the topics «Lobbying Belarusian interests abroad», «Belarus and Eastern Partnership», «Science and Education» as well as the presentation of Belarusian research and publishing projects.

ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION ON THE UKRAINIAN-ROMANIAN RELATIONS
On September 17th, 2011 an expert roundtable discussion on the topic “Ukrainian-Romanian relations: achievements, problems and prospects” was held at the Department of History, Political Science and International Relations of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. The event was organized by Black Sea Peacekeeping Network, Center for Middle East Studies, Foundation “Public Resources and Initiatives” and the Institute of European Integration and Regional Studies of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Tolerance: harmony in diversity
During September 2010 – June 2011 the Institute of European Integration and Regional Studies acted as a partner of Bukovinian Political Studies Center in the project «Monitoring of the Balanced Etno-National Relations Formation Process in the Chernivtsi Region», supported by International Renaissance Foundation.
The project was aimed to promoting a balanced inter-ethnic relations by improving ethnic policy at the regional level, improving the efficiency of implementation of relevant regional programs, reducing the spread of ethnic stereotypes and increasing the tolerance culture of public servants, local government officials and journalists of regional media.

TRAINING SEMINAR FOR DEPUTIES

TO AVOID STEREOTYPES
On June 30-th, 2011 at the initiative of Bukovinian Political Studies Center a training seminar on the issues of ethnic tolerance for the staff of regional and local media was conducted. The seminar was organized within the project «Monitoring of the Balanced Etno-National Relations Formation Process in the Chernivtsi Region» which is undertaken jointly with the Research Institute for European Integration and Regional Studies of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and funded by the International Renaissance Foundation.

BUKOVYNIAN DIALOGUE – 2011
On May 11, 2011 a roundtable discussion “Bukovynian Dialogue – 2011” was held in the Blue Hall of the Chernivtsi National University. During the discussion the experts and politicians exchanged views about cultural factors that had a positive impact on the Bukovyna’s development as the European region, and discussed a wide range of Ukrainian-Romanian relations. The roundtable was organized by Chernivsti Regional State Administration, the Institute of Postgraduate Education of Chernivtsi oblast, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and Research Institute of European Integration and Regional Studies.

Dear young academics and researchers from Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine,
we would like to present to you the Winter School in European Integration, which is carried out by the Europa-Institut of the Saarland University with financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It will take place at the Europa-Institut in Saarbrücken from January 11 – 20, 2015. The Winter School’s theme is “Democracy and Human Rights in the European Union”. A broad variety of lectures, taught by academics and practitioners, will help the participants to systematically explore the chances and limits of European integration in promoting democracy and protecting human rights.

17 червня 2014 року в конференц-залі Науково-дослідницького інституту європейської інтеграції та регіональних досліджень ЧНУ імені Юрія Федьковича, відбувся експертний круглий стіл, у ході якого було презентовано та обговорено результати загальнонаціонального та регіонального моніторингу ЗМІ на предмет якісного інформування виборців та рівного доступу до ЗМІ суб’єктів виборчого процесу. Моніторинг проводили Асоціація “Спільний простір” / Комітет “Рівність можливостей” за підтримки Національного фонду підтримки демократії (NED) та Ради Європи, разом із НДІ ЄІРД.

Конференція стала заключним заходом трирічного проекту «Наближаючись до всебічних знань про європейську інтеграцію в Україні», що виконувався в ЧНУ за підтримки Програми Жана Моне «Кафедра європейських студій» під керівництвом директора НДІ ЄІРД проф. Анатолія Круглашова.
